Location: Oaxaca and Guerrero, Mexico
Event: The Mexican Meteorological Service issued a Tropical Storm Warning for the states of Oaxaca and Guerrero. The tropical storm is located 435 kilometers south-southeast of Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico. It is expected to produce heavy rain causing flash floods and mudslides over the southern portions of the Mexican states of Guerrero and Oaxaca beginning tomorrow, June 14, and continuing into the weekend. As of 3:20 p.m. June 13, the ports in Huatulco and Puerto Escondido are closed to small boats due to high waves from the storm. This rainfall could cause life-threatening flash floods and mud slides.
