Weather Alert – U.S. Consulate General Hermosillo, U.S. Consulate General Nogales, and U.S. Consulate General Tijuana, Mexico (September 19, 2018)
Location: Baja California Sur Peninsula, Sonora, and Sinaloa
Event: The U.S. Embassy advises U.S. citizens that Tropical Depression Nineteen-E is moving northward over the southern Gulf of California today. The storm is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 5 to 10 inches, with isolated maximum amounts of 15 inches across portions of Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, and Sonora through Thursday, creating potential for life-threatening flash floods and mudslides. Moisture from this disturbance will also lead to areas of heavy rainfall and a risk of flash flooding in northwestern Mexico beginning today.

- Exercise caution if traveling to the affected areas until the storm has dissipated.
- Monitor the local news for updates.
