Weather Alert – Tropical Storm Lorena

Location:  Mexican States of Guerrero, Michoacan, Colima, and Jalisco

Event: The Government of Mexico has issued a hurricane watch for Tropical Storm Lorena for the southwest coast of Mexico from Punta San Telmo, Michoacan to Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco. In addition, a tropical storm warning is in effect from Zihuatanejo, Guerrero to Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco. Lorena is expected to approach the southwest coast of Mexico on Thursday and become a hurricane on Friday. Heavy rains and strong winds are expected along the coasts of Guerrero, Michoacan, Colima, and Jalisco, which could cause life-threatening flash floods and landslides.
