U.S Consulates General in Monterrey and Guadalajara Offer Video Storytelling Workshop

More than 75 journalists and non-government, educational, and government organizations from the states of Nuevo Leon, Coahuila, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, Tamaulipas, Durango, Jalisco, and Michoacán participated in a Video Storytelling workshop offered by Christoph Geiseler, founder of the One Minute Academy. Participants learned methods for producing one minute length videos to more effectively promote their organizations’ messages and work. The workshop taught pre-production, production, and post-production techniques required to produce a good quality video in a short period of time.  At the end of the workshop, and as a final “test,” each of the organizations and journalists presented their in-class produced videos, with messages about social inclusion, support for crime victims, empowering women, promotion of sciences and mathematics learning, and many other topics of great social impact. In Monterrey, Consul General Timothy Zuñiga-Brown closed the workshop by delivering completion certificates to the attendees. In Morelia, representatives from Consulate General Guadalajara and La Voz de Michoacán gave certificates to the journalists, NGO leaders, and university directors who participated in the workshop.
