U.S. Consulate General's Youth Council

Today, Public Affairs Officer Shannon Hill welcomed the 21 new members of the Consulate General’s Youth Council and their mentors. In this first meeting, the new members had the opportunity to get to know each other, discuss their first training activity and talk about their plans for the future.

In order to know the vision of the youth, the U.S. Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez called on young Juarez residents to join its Youth Council in November 2016. The selection of the new members was carried out through an internal process and the selected ones were notified in December 2016.

The Consulate General’s Youth Council is a group of young people between the ages of 18 and 30 that meets periodically to share their ideas and contribute to a dialogue on issues that are important to the United States and Mexico. The previous Youth Council terminated its functions in September 2016.
