Consul General Sonya Tsiros participated on the 15th Mexican Association of Small Business Development Centers (AMCDPE) Conference celebrated in Merida on August 28 and 29.  Ms. Tsiros spoke about developments in the High Level Economic Dialogue announced in May 2013 by Presidents Pena Nieto and Obama, including the establishment of the Mexico-U.S. Entrepreneurship and Innovation Council (MUSEIC).  MUSEIC is a binational public-private partnership made up of public and private sector representatives from both countries who are working to develop new initiatives and public policies to promote entrepreneurship and innovation.  At the April 2014 meeting of MUSEIC in San Antonio, Texas, the United States and Mexico signed a bilateral memorandum of understanding to connect U.S. and Mexican small business support centers.  This agreement furthers the Small Business Network of the Americas initiative, which seeks to promote linkages between small business development centers throughout the Americas.  More information on the High Level Economic Dialogue and MUSEIC can be found on the website of the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City.  http://mexico.usembassy.gov/policy/hled.html
