Passport Renewals – If you are eligible to renew your passport without an interview, you may walk in to Consulate General Guadalajara Monday – Thursday from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM except holidays or days we are closed to the public.

If you require more signatures, you must make more than one appointment. For example, if you have a document that requires seven (7) signatures, you must make four (4) appointments.

The Consular Agency in San Jose del Cabo offers routine and emergency services for American Citizens visiting or residing in Baja California Sur. The Consular Agency performs notarial services and receives applications for U.S. passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad. Please note that the Consular Agency is unable to provide any visa-related information or services.

To apply for a CRBA, please send an email to NogalesACS@state.gov requesting a list of requirements.  Once you have gathered the required documents, you may dial 631-980-0522 or 844-528-6611 to arrange an appointment.

  • To apply for your first passport: Visit the appointment calendar to schedule an appointment. Select the “Passport services other than adding visa pages” option in.  This applies for adults and minors.

 

  • Passport Renewals: No appointment is required for adult passport renewals at the U.S. Consulate General in Nuevo Laredo. You may come to the Consulate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.  Note: This only applies to renew passports that were issued with a ten-year validity period and have expired less than five years ago.  Please see https://mx.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/how-to-renew-a-passport/for more information.

 

  • To apply for a passport under the Child Citizenship Act of 2000, visit the appointment calendar schedule an appointment.

NOTICE:
The U.S. Consular Agency in Puerto Vallarta requires a pre-paid courier service waybill (Only services from Estafeta and Fedex) for the return of your passport book, passport card, or Consular Report of Birth Abroad.

At the time of your appointment with us, please bring a pre-paid, self-addressed courier service envelope and a label with a tracking number for delivery from Guadalajara to you. You should have one waybill for each product you are requesting.

Please note the following schedule for services that do not require an appointment: 

  • Notarial Services do not require an appointment, and walk-ins are accepted between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  Clients must present documents indicating the location of the notarization, a valid ID and a photocopy copy of the same ID.
  • Emergency Passports do not require an appointment, and walk-ins are accepted between 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday.  Please carefully read the information regarding emergency passports found here.
  • Adult Passport Renewals, using form DS-82, do not require an appointment, and walk-ins are accepted between 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
  • Data Corrections and Name Changes do not require an appointment, and walk-ins are accepted between 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday.
