American participation in the biennial Fería Aeroespacial de México (FAMEX) 2023 from April 26 to 29 furthered bilateral relations, deepened regional economic integration, and strengthened the U.S.-Mexican military partnership.
Organized by the Mexican Ministry of National Defense (Sedena), FAMEX has quickly become Latin America’s premier military and civil aviation fair. U.S. involvement at the event, held at Santa Lucia air base outside Mexico City, included multiple components.
Dozens of private American companies representing the best of U.S. commercial innovation promoted public-private partnerships in the aerospace sector, including most prominently at a U.S. Commerce Department-certified pavilion.
The fair also showcased the deep partnership between the Armed Forces of the United States and Mexico though daily flight demonstrations of the F-16 Viper Demonstration Team and the CH-47 Chinook helicopter, as well as jumps by the U.S. Air Force Wings of Blue parachute team.
U.S. military officials, including Brigadier General Traci Kueker-Murphy, USSPACECOM Deputy Director, Strategy, Plans and Policy, also participated in the Congreso de Mujeres de la Industria Aerospacial.
