The United States Consulate General in Monterrey is aware of press reports, which indicate that law enforcement officials are levying fines and impounding vehicles of unauthorized taxi services, including Uber vehicles, arriving at the General Mariano Escobedo International Airport. Passengers have been required to disembark from vehicles and obtain an authorized taxi to complete their trip to the airport. Uber is not authorized to pick up passengers at the airport at this time. This is the first police action of which the Consulate General is aware to prevent Uber from dropping off passengers.
