Event: Resumption of Travel to Chihuahua City for U.S. Government Employees
The U.S. Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez has removed the temporary prohibition on U.S. government employee travel to Chihuahua City with the following updated restrictions:
Employees are required to travel during daylight hours from Ciudad Juarez to Chihuahua City via Highway 45, with stops permitted only at the Federal Police station, the overlook, the border inspection station at KM 35, and the shops and restaurants on Highway 45 in the town of Villa Ahumada.
Travel within Chihuahua City is permitted at any time but limited to the area demarcated by the following boundaries:
- The northern boundary is Av. Transformación
- The eastern boundary is Av Tecnológico / Manuel Gómez Morin
- The western boundary is the city limit
- The southern boundary is Route 16 / Calle Tamborel
In addition, travel is permitted to factories (maquilas) outside this area via the most direct route. Direct travel to Abraham Gonzales International Airport is also permitted.
