Mexico City, October 6, 2017—We are grateful for the government of Mexico’s offer of help to the victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Mexican authorities are working with the appropriate contacts at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide assistance, and there are already Mexican technical personnel in Puerto Rico.
Our governments have expressed their continued solidarity in the face of natural disasters that have ravaged both our countries. We have agreed to work cooperatively to restore affected communities as quickly as possible.
We thank the people of Mexico for their generous expressions of good will and support.
