During a trip to Chiapas, Ambassador Wayne learned first-hand from students and alumni that have benefited from educational programs sponsored by the USG that have impacted their lives and helped them better their communities across the state of Chiapas.  Ambassador Wayne attended a workshop focused on combating youth drug and alcohol abuse organized by members of Chiapas’ Jovenes en Accion.  Ambassador Wayne also met with alumni that have participated in educational programs including the English Access Microscholarship Program, the Study of the United States Institute (SUSI), and the Scholar Education for Economic Development (SEED) program.  The youth joined the Ambassador at a special ceremony celebrating the third anniversary of the newly expanded Franklin Corner serves not only as a source of English and Spanish books, periodicals, English conversation clubs, and educational materials, but also hosts an EducationUSA advising center to assist Chiapas students seeking to study in the United States
