LGBTI Activist and Executive Director of the Matthew Shepard Foundation visits Tijuana, Hermosillo and Nogales

Last week, the US Consulate in Tijuana welcomed Jason Marsden, Executive Director of the Matthew Shepard Foundation, an organization that seeks to eliminate hatred by replacing it with understanding, compassion and acceptance. As part of Jason Marsden’s visit, he met with civil society organizations in Nogales, Hermosillo and Tijuana that work with the LGBTI community to help them organize around shared awareness and inclusion goals. He also engaged young activists in all three cities, and during these sessions Marsden shared what happened to Matthew Shepard, the resulting work of his organization and how to work together to prevent hate crimes.
