Ambassador Wayne hosted a reception for Idaho Governor Otter and a trade delegation representing 15 companies. The event was attended by over 150 business contacts and government officials. This is Governor Otter’s seventh visit visit to Mexico over the span of his career. His last visit was in 2008. but Idaho’s lieutenant governor has also visited Mexico, where he led a trade delegation in 2012. As Ambassador Wayne pointed out in his remarks, “The visit is a testament to the importance of Mexico to Idaho’s business community.” Mexico is Idaho’s second largest agricultural export market and 6th largest market overall. Total exports are valued at more than $301 million in 2014, up over 10% from the previous year.
