Consulate launches call for proposals to carry out community projects in Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas, and /or Zacatecas

For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Consulate General in Monterrey, in coordination with the U.S. Consulates General in Matamoros and Nuevo Laredo, launched a call for proposals to fund community projects in an effort to support organizations in northeastern Mexico and strengthen bilateral relations in this region.

With this program the Consulates General seek to promote opportunities among members of civil society through projects that address specific needs of the community. The projects should be related to the topics of this call, serve to broaden and deepen mutual understanding, and foster closer ties between Mexico and the United States.

The goal of this call for proposals is to strengthen community based organizations in support of activities which fall under one of the following themes:

  • Broadening human rights
  • Promoting science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education
  • Advancing democracy, freedom of expression, civil society, and good governance
  • Supporting entrepreneurship and innovation
