On March 24 the Consulate General in Monterrey held an opening ceremony of the first generation of the English Access program at the School of Languages of Tec de Monterrey’s campus Saltillo, Coahuila. Twenty-five young people received this scholarship from Consul General Timothy Zuñiga-Brown. The English Access Microscholarship program is a two-year scholarship for talented low-income students to study English and computer science along with social entrepreneurship and leadership components. For the Consulate General, it is a great pleasure to know that these students will form the first generation of the English Access program in the state of Coahuila, which contributes not only to academic progress, but also to personal development, critical thinking skills, leadership, civic values, creativity, and decision-making skills.
