Online Professional English Network (OPEN)

The OPEN Program provides virtual professional development opportunities to English language educators of all levels. This competitive scholarship for English language educators provides an 8-week virtual professional development experience at a Master’s degree-level in a TESOL-related field. All courses have been developed and are delivered by reputable American institutions of higher education via innovative distance learning technology.

Study of the U.S. Institutes – Scholars (SUSI – Scholars)

Study of the United States Institutes (SUSI) Scholar Program is a six week program designed to strengthen curricula and improve quality of teaching about the United States overseas. The program is for highly-motivated and experienced professionals/scholars generally from institutions of higher education or research focused organizations (non-profits, think tanks, etc.). Participants interact with U.S. scholars, meet with experts in their disciplines, visit civic institutions and explore the diversity and culture of the United States.

Study of the U.S. Institutes for Secondary Educators (SUSI – Educators)

Study of the United States Institutes (SUSI) for Secondary Educators are four to five-week academic residencies followed by a one to two-week educational study tour to a different region of the United States. During the Institutes, scholars engage in rigorous academic coursework and panel discussions, interact and establish networks with U.S. scholars, meet with experts in respective disciplines, visit civic institutions, and in some cases, participate in research symposia and conferences.
