The EducationUSA Academy is a two-to-four week college-preparatory academic enrichment program for international high school students interested in studying in the United States. Hosted by nine U.S. colleges and universities, the program provides valuable skills and experiences to help students strengthen their college applications and prepare for future success. The academies offer specialized college preparatory content, college-level writing workshops, campus visits, and cultural activities. International students gain an insider’s perspective on higher education in the United States while getting the chance to experience and enjoy campus life.
The Access Program provides English language, media literacy, environmental awareness, leadership, and other core skills to deserving teens through its scholarship component. An Access Alumni component continues building on these and other workplace readiness skills. A teacher training component provides virtual and in-person professional development opportunities to English language and content instructors of all levels.
Participation in this program is based on the location of the implementing partners.
The U.S. Embassy in Mexico and the Mexican Ministry of Public Education, with support from the private sector, sponsor the binational youth leadership program – Jóvenes en Acción (JenA). JenA develops the leadership skills of Mexican youth enrolled in their sophomore or junior years of high school to address social issues affecting Mexico. After a three-week exchange in the United States, students implement a service project in their respective communities throughout the academic year.
Hosted in Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia since 1963, the National Youth Science Camp (NYSCamp) is a residential science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) program designed to honor and challenge some of the nation’s rising leaders and provide them with opportunities to engage with STEAM professionals and participate in exciting outdoor activities. Students from around the country (two seniors or juniors are selected each year to represent New York State) are challenged academically in exciting lectures and establish friendships that last a lifetime.
