Monterrey, NL October 12, 2017 – In an effort to improve the educational and job opportunities for talented young people, the Consulate and binational center in Monterrey, Relaciones Culturales, awarded 100 scholarships through the English Access program to young students of Nuevo Leon. The project includes scholarship for students to learn U.S. English and computer skills, as well as about U.S. culture, music and history. The ceremony featured Consul General Timothy Zúñiga-Brown and Susan Bryan, Director of the binational Center. The students will form five classes based in three locations: Downtown Monterrey, Apodaca, Anáhuac. The English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy currently sponsors 15 English Access programs and benefits 768 students across Mexico.
