Consulate General’s Youth Council in Ciudad Juarez holds first session

Consulate General’s Youth Council in Ciudad Juarez

The Consulate General’s Youth Council in Ciudad Juarez held its first session today with new recently selected members.  The group members had an opportunity to meet one another, as well as speak to Public Affairs Officer Brian Straight about pressing issues relevant to young people.

The Consulate General’s Youth Council is a diverse group of youth leaders from Ciudad Juarez who meet regularly to share ideas and contribute to a dialogue on issues important to the U.S. and Mexico.  The members also participate in projects and events promoting our shared ideals, including gender equality, social entrepreneurship, English language learning, civil society development and support of diversity through the promotion of equal rights

The call for the new Youth Council members was announced in February 2018; selectees were notified in April.
