Ambassador Wayne welcomed F. Thaddeus Arroyo to the U.S. Embassy to discuss the key economic issues impacting AT&T Mexico’s operations, and Mr. Arroyo’s recent move to become CEO of AT&T Mexico. With millions of Mexicans and Mexican Americans living across the border in the United States, inexpensive telephony connects families and fosters closer U.S.-Mexico relations. AT&T’s investment of over $4.5 billion into Mexico is an example of the growing economic partnership between the United States and Mexico and the tremendous opportunities for trade between our two countries. AT&T is expected to invest heavily to build out and upgrade its network and it eventually hopes to offer broad band wireless services to 100 million Mexicans.
