Pedro Linares

Pedro Linares was a cartonería (paper-mâché) artist, best known for having created mythical creatures called alebrijes. He crafted these figurines in the image of the animals he envisioned in his dreams, while bedridden. These colorful collaborations bridge the worlds of fine art and folk art. Alebrijes are world known exemplary Mexican folk art.
