Miguel Ángel Alamilla
Miguel Ángel Alamilla is a Mexican artist who specializes in poetic, non-figurative sculpture, paintings, and drawings. He is of a generation of artists influenced by Mexico’s historical movements, focusing on abstraction and giving viewers the freedom to interpret his work as they see fit. After graduating from La Esmeralda, the National School of Painting, Sculpture, and Printmaking in Mexico City, Alamilla hosted a drawing seminar for artists and teachers of plastic arts at the House of Culture in Monterrey. He was a professor of drawing, painting, and composition at La Esmeralda and received the National Institute of Fine Arts’ drawing and graphic production grant.
