Malaquías Montoya

Malaquías Montoya is an artist, author, and professor.  The Albuquerque, New Mexico, native was born to migrant parents and was one of seven children raised in California.  Via poster/mural, Montoya seeks to give voice to the silent and often ignored populace of Chicanos, Mexicans, and the Central American working class, along with other disenfranchised people of the world.  While his art addresses several themes, his main three are injustice (defects of social and political existence), empowerment (disguised reality from media), and international struggle (common antagonist.)
