Esperanza Gama
Esperanza Gama was born and educated in Guadalajara, Mexico. She believes that a visual artist’s language merges with the everyday life where one lives. Therefore her work touches on social issues that are relevant to many communities around the world. Her ability to portray a clear and precise message to her audience has resulted in several awards and residences. For example, the Sor Juana Achievement Award for Visual Arts from the National Museum of Mexican Art in Chicago. Ms. Gama graduated from the School of Fine Arts at the University of Guadalajara with a B.F.A. in 1984. After moving to Paris in 1988, Gama studied printmaking and drawing for two years at the École des Beaux Arts in Chaville.
