WASHINGTON –Maria Contreras-Sweet, Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and a member of President Obama’s Cabinet, will travel to Mexico City, Mexico, October 1-5, 2016. The Administrator will discuss the importance of harnessing the power of entrepreneurship to advance economic prosperity in the United States and Mexico.
“Our two countries are more than neighbors, we are strategic interdependent partners,” said Contreras-Sweet. “We share an entrepreneurial ecosystem and for U.S. small businesses, Mexico is a primary destination for U.S. small business exports.”
The Administrator was invited by Mexico’s Ministry of Economy and the Instituto Nacional del Emprendedor (INADEM) to deliver a keynote address at Mexico’s National Entrepreneurship Week (SNE). Enrique Peña Nieto, President of Mexico will offer remarks during the SNE inauguration.
During her visit, Contreras-Sweet exchange ideas on entrepreneurship with Presdient Pena Nieto, met with Secretary of the Economy Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, with the chairman of INADEM Enrique Jacob Rocha, the General Director of NAFINSA Jacques Rogozinski, private sector leaders and entrepreneurs.
